Iodé Browser connectivity check using Google

Hi, I assumed that the captivity check of the iodé Browser uses captiveportal.kuketz.de (at least that is what I read at https://iode.tech/de/documentation/captive-portal-check/ ). Looking at the protocol provided by the NetGuard app, I see that iodé Browser regularly calls http://detectportal.firefox.com which Netguard labels as “AS396982 Google LLC”. I am quite sure that I have not manually switched this to a Google account. Have I misunderstood anything or has anything gone wrong (and how may has this happened)?

The “captive portal check” using kuketz.de is at the system level (not part of the browser). Firefox (and thus iodé browser) do independently / separately make the call to the firefox “detectportal” site as described here: Captive portal detection | Firefox Help that you see. I think it is not accurate that it is a Google asset, however.
