How to flash magisk? (S10e, iode 7)

how to flash magisk? (S10e, iode 7)

i’d tried patching the boot.img and flash it in lineage’s recovery (“Apply update”, then “Choose from SD”),
and also tried
renaming the magisk.apk to magisk.zip then flash it in recovery,

but the recovery always says:

Supported API: 3
Finding update package…
Verifying update package…
ERROR: recovery: footer is wrong
Update package verification took 0.2 s (result 1).
ERROR: recovery: Signiture verification failed
ERROR: recovery: error: 21
Install completed with status 2.
Installation aborted

I tried it too, but did not succeed on the S10e. If I remember correctly it had something to do with root being in recovery instead of boot. Since the phones were for other people, who didn’t need root, I gave up, after a few hours. (Also wanted TWRP as recovery, which also failed, although I have it running on all my other Samsung’s)

that link doesn’t tell me how to install magisk in custom roms,
it had the steps for stock rom (patching AP which iode doesn’t have).

i have magisk on iode 4 in S10e though.
don’t remember how i did it, or if there is change in later iode.
