Ok guys, when stuck in the “corrupt user 0” boot screen, DO NOT wipe user data.
Boot to recovery and change the active slot with fastboot. a fastboot reboot brings you back to a working system! You can then back up your data.
At least for me that worked.

Were you updating manually via ADB, or automatically via the Updater?
I had already clicked update when I saw your post, and then stopped it, just in case.
