@rik How can we find out about the SPL used in the latest iodéOS build?
Clarification! If you lock or unlock all your userdata is wiped out!
To relock, first make sure in Developer Options that “Allow OEM Unlocking” is enabled. Then if locking goes bad, you can always re-install (after all successful and you are locked you can disable that option).
Then once you have all your data backed up (Seedvault is built in, also make a manual backup of anything important) you can do this command from a terminal when in fastboot:
fastboot flashing lock
(I think this works for a Moto, it may be fastboot oem lock if the above doesn’t work).
Once it is installed? From “System Settings > About Phone > Android version > Android security update & Vendor security patch level”
From a build hosted on gitlab? It is a bit less clear, I have requested Vincent put the SPL in the package name but I don’t think that is implemented yet. The 7.4 builds include the “March 2026 Android security update” is the best I can advise ![]()
Thanks, that was what we were wondering. Yes, I think with all that caution in respect to anti-rollback protection, info should be provided which SPL was used in the current iodéOS build. I read on several occasions, that LineageOS is late in integrating the most recent service patches for stock Android, so I guess iodéOS cannot be ahead of them.
Hi Rik, thanks for your help and clarification. I’ve already done it and there were no problems. I was expecting that relocking the bootloader would wipe the data, so that wasn’t a problem.
The command used:
fastboot flashing lock
Finally got round to installing Iode on my G32. All went well but haven’t yet locked the bootloader.
Just checking that I make sure In Developer Options that “Allow OEM Unlocking” is enabled and I’m good to issue the command “fastboot flashing lock” in the terminal?
Any problems and I can unlock again or re-run the installer right?
Thanks
You can just run the installer again and answer the question if you want to lock the bootloader with “yes”. That’s what I did back in the days, because I had not been fast enough to answer the question in the first place.
Already restored data will be wiped! But you can just again restore from backup.
Hi, I would expect that aswner is affirmitive but I’m waiting for someone with more experience to validate that. In terms of relocking the bootloader after using it unlocked, it’s a very easy process using only one command like I’ve mentioned.
Before I just checked this:
- Data backup done
- Usb debugging toggle ON
- Allow oem unlocking toggle ON
- Phone is properly recognised on computer typing - fastboot devices - after putting the phone in fastboot mode
Yes you can do it that way, again as noted all data will be wiped so you need to re-setup. Or you can fully reinstall again as also noted. Both work!
All done, no problem locking the bootloader.
Thanks
