For the Contacts app included in iodé 7.7 for Brax3, is this the best place to submit issues and feature requests?
We can help troubleshoot, but the development isn’t done by iodé, instead it is just the stock AOSP contacts app: platform/packages/apps/Contacts - Git at Google
I don’t think there is much format to report issues or make feature requests to them ![]()
So again maybe just try here let’s see if we can sort out if what you are interested in already exists, or maybe another contacts app would accommodate your request better (Fossify Contacts from F-Droid maybe?)
@rik thank you, much appreciated!
The built-in Contacts app works great and is actually preferable to google-contacts. One great feature missing, though, is the ability to select a subset of a contact’s data when using the Share function to share the contact.
For example. sometimes a contact might have multiple phone numbers, multiple email addresses, and notes, but in one instance we only want to share a single phone number, a single email address, and no notes.
You actually have a very valid use case, I think think this would be a nice feature: are you willing to look into Fossify Contacts or other to see if that feature is available? If not they would be a much better place to submit a feature request than upstream Google ![]()
@rik sure, although:
- The requested feature is already in the Google Contacts app; &
- the native iodé/AOSP Contacts app is much, much better than Fossify, etc.
…so preferably it would be cool if the excellent native AOSP version simply followed the sharing functionality from Google Contacts. ![]()
