Android Auto no longer working on 4.25

Hi,
since I updated my S10e to 4.25, Android Auto is no longer working (unable to connect to my car).
It was fine before the update and I noticed that AA had lost all privileges (I reinstated those, but no luck) and it no longer appears under Apps / Preinstalled Apps so I’m wondering if it lost the system level integration.

does anyone else have it working so I know that its an issue on my end?

thanks

Not exactly related, and not exactly addressing your issue, but another user with a 4.25 build (Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G monet) reports that their list of “Preinstalled Apps” is severely reduced, not showing several categories. Possibly something is causing issues with Preinstalled Apps in 4.25?

As a side question, are there any updates to AA available in Aurora?

Thanks for confirming that there is something strange going on with the update and its not just on my end, @rik

regarding AA updates in Aurora, I have none available right now, but in the past I’ve updated AA via Aurora successfully many times

As I noted in another thread, AA on v4.25 is getting tested by the dev team. It does not have (or need) the “AA stub” found in “Preinstalled Apps” that is required for v6.x builds, but I didn’t get feedback on if devs with v4.x devices were able to confirm if AA is still working for them (they thought it should still be working, FWIW)

thanks again @rik
in the meantime, I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall all AA components, but no luck

this may well be what pushes me to update to 6.x, up until now I saw no reason or feature justifying a clean install

I didn’t get any feedback from the iodé team confirming (or denying) that AA is still working on 4.25. Before you move to 6.x please look around a bit to see how others are doing with that upgrade on your device. It would take a clean re-install, it may be less performant, etc. So if you want to wait for a while longer to see if others can give more feedback on AA for the 4.x series you may prefer it. It is all about your priorities.

thanks!

yes, I know that I’d have to do a clean install and I’ve read the reports about sluggishness with 6.x on my model. That’s whats kept me from updating, as I’m totally happy with 4.x and don’t need any of the features of 6.x

I’ll wait for a while longer, at least until another 4.x user reports whether AA is actually working on their device or not
